Where our Siberian Sturgeon Caviar Comes From
Our Siberian caviar is sourced ethically and legally from the finest aquaculture farms in Europe. We do not sell any wild or black-market caviar. Protecting this historic and endangered species is extremely important to our mission and 10% of our profits are donated to various organizations that work to protect wild sturgeons and restore their natural habitats around the world.
How our Siberian Sturgeon Caviar is Made
Raised sustainably and ethically in state-of-the-art aquaculture facilities, each Siberian sturgeon is hand-picked at peak maturity using the latest filtering and ultrasound technology. The fish roe is extracted using labour-inducing techniques and then carefully filtered, inspected, cured, and aged. Once ready, the Siberian caviar is immediately packaged and made available online for purchase to ensure ultimate freshness, flavour profile and texture.
About Siberian Caviar
Siberian caviar comes from the Siberian sturgeon species found in the wild in rivers and seas in North Eastern Asia. The Siberian sturgeon can grow well over 1 meter long (3.2 feet) and weigh up to 200kg (440 lbs). Females can take over 20 years to mature and begin producing their precious roe (fish eggs).
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
How much caviar do I need?Dave2023-02-13T23:11:45-04:00
The amount of caviar you need will depend on the amount of people that will be enjoying it. As a rule of thumb, 28 grams (1 ounce) is enough for 1 to 2 people.
Can I freeze caviar?Dave2023-02-13T23:15:25-04:00Although we do not recommend doing so, you can freeze a sealed jar or tin of caviar for up to one year. The caviar will lose some of its flavor and texture as time goes on.
How do I store caviar?Dave2023-02-13T23:12:03-04:00A sealed jar or tin of caviar should be kept in the fridge around -2 to 0 Celsius (28 to 32 Fahrenheit) to preserve its freshness, flavor, and texture.
Is your caviar wild or farmed?Dave2023-02-13T23:12:08-04:00All our caviar products are ethically sourced from sustainable farms. We do not sell wild caviar. Wild caviar is illegal in many countries.
Will my caviar become spoiled if I am not home to receive my order?Dave2023-02-13T23:12:13-04:00All orders are shipped in weather-proof packaging with ice pack to preserve freshness for up to 72 hours. Packages ship with Next-Day (Overnight) shipping from Monday through Wednesday and typically arrive within 24 hours in larger cities and up to 48 hours in more rural areas. We do not ship from Thursday to Sunday to prevent orders from arriving spoiled in case of shipment delays. Please put your caviar in the fridge as soon as possible once you receive your order.
